Stock bottomend+ ported heads=

Who all has stock bottom ends with ported heads and a cam used as a DD and fun car.How many miles were on the stock bottomend before the heads and cam how many miles were put on it with the heads and cam?I blew a head gasket and I'm having my engine rebuilt but not sure what way I wanna go its going to be a mild DD/weekend car my work is 15 mins away.The car was going to be a lt4 hotcam car with ported heads and mild stall but changed my mind now lookin at geting a custom cam along the lines of the GM846 but maybe a tad more wilder so going to go with a custom cam.I wanna know how good a stock bottom end will handle this being drivin a bit.Can anyone help me out with all the stock part #'s I will need to do a stock rebuild?I was thinking of the summit rebuild kit with the forged pistons that would take care of a good bit of the gaskets and bearings.How much better is the summit rebuild kit then the stock stuff?Can the stock rods have the bolts upgraded?Sorry for all the questions but thank you alot!!!

I can anwser a few of your questions, many people on here are running stock bottom end with Le1/2/3 setups www.eportworks.com this is a h/c package going anywhere from like 350ish to 420whp.

Main thing is to not Rev it up too high

Keep the revs below 63-6400ish and you should be ok

I had a 112,000 mile stocker that I put TPiS heads and ZZ9 cam in and it was around 365 RWHP. I rebuilt the bottom end and put on Ai 190cc LT1 heads and cam and got to 395 RWHP.

I am pretty sure your not going to get the valve clearance on the LE3 FYI.
