Stock A4 Trans-how Much Power?
Does anyone here have an idea of how much power or mods can be done to a 94 LT1 before I'll have problems with the stock trans? I am staring to get more involved with the car but do not want to damage the trans or rear diff. Can a stock A4 take a shot of nitrous wth a stock convertor, maybe 100 shot? Just wondering what you guys have run into with your A4's and bolt ons.

When my car was stock I did some pretty stupid things in it and the tranny held up fine. After my rebuild (355, 11:1, 2.02/1.60, 1:6 Crane rockers, dual race springs, retainers, etc, Crane 210/224 #104227, flat top pistons, pink rods, stock chamfered? crank, a lot of suspen/chassis mods, etc) No dyno, but guess-ta-mated at around 370 RWHP. I've toasted two trannies and having problems my third. Also, broke a pinon gear tooth with Richmond 3.73's.

Depends on how many miles are on it, how often the fluids were changed, and how abusive the driver was.
I've seen them brake on bolton cars with less than 300 rwhp. Then again, I've seen LS1 head and cam cars (low 400 rwhp) go for awhile before breaking them.

that brings up a question i have. i have read about the ls1 A4 stock tranny taking alot more hp than our lt1 A4 stock tranny before it breaks, are there any differences in the ls1 version of the 4l60e?

they were made to handle a maximum of 350 lb. ft. of TORQUE.
torque power is how trannies are catagorized...
stock... you are probably putting out 330....
if the stock tranny holds up for a while on a stock car that receives even a small amount of abuse... your lucky...
but to answer your question...
a very small amount of mods will put the tranny over its limits... expect problems.
