Actually, there are two steel braces on hard top cars that the t-top cars lack. One on each side just above the window. And technically it isn't sheetmetal covering the roof, it's some kind of composite.

DON'T DO ANYTHING!!! LEAVE IT STOCK!!!

I have a 96 Z28 SS and have done everything. It runs great, and is a head-turner, but for the money blown down that rat-hole, the extra problems, the lack of service support, it ain't worth it. I've put over $15K into the engine and if I could undo my work, I'd take the money and headaches and buy a corvette.

Modding you car will destroy your resale value. Your car will never be worth as much modded as it is stock.

I will have this car forever and I plan on showing it, driving it, and taking it to the track to see what she can do. And don't worry, I would never destroy the car or make it gaudy....mine's #168/2410
WOW, low # car, your's has the extreude honed exhaust manifolds too! The R1 option was $1899 to be exact. There were only 93 cars optioned with this option. I was going to sell my car for a while, I'm glad I didn't. Just be sure to keep ALL the original parts that came on it. I have a pile in the corner of my garage, lol.

Well I can't say that I've done any scientific analysis or loaded anything into ProE to get that in depth with the dynamics of the rear suspension, but I am fairly observant and it would appear that it is chassis flex causing stress at the rear quarter panel. Whether SFC's would help or not is debatable, but it sure seems like cars that do have them get that problem a whole lot less...

Nice car 96supersport. How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? What do you mean the guy had them take it off? Does it still have the sticker on the pass door that says R1 option?

Best advice here.

I was just giving you crap. I love the LT1 SS camaros. Speaking of skinny tires, there was this Hugger orange LS1 SS around my town and he put on some truck 20" wheels and 235/40r20's or something rediculously skinny. Why people get a muscle car and replace the meaty stock tires with skinny shrimp tires to save $50 is beyond me.

Thats awesome, if your car has the decal on the pass door that says R1 you have it! Just get a set of originals to save with the car. Mine are stacked up in my garage.

Good advice for those who are hoping these cars will turn into some sort of investment. I don't plan on ever selling mine and even if I do I'm not interested in trying to make money on it.

I consider that junk science. There were a gaggle of people years ago who tried to convince everyone there was a SOTP feeling from an air foil. I haven't seen these dimples you post of on mine other than the dizzy asswipes who've given me door dings.

Before you go busting on the launch pic with those steel wheels that was back in the day when they cost at least $100 for a pair at the junkyard and the aluminum salad shooters were at least $100 each.
