Stock 03 cobra 39lb injectors in LT1?

I am wondering if the stock 39lb injectors off a 03/04 cobra will fit on a LT1 engine? Will they fit in the intake and also will the stock plugs plug into the inejctors? Thanks for the info.

I know now I will be buying the EV6 to EV1 adapters to plug them in. But have been told I need to modify how they clip in so the rail wont be pushed off them under pressure. Any info on how that mod is done?

I don't know if they will fit or not, but larger injectors won't increase your fuel pressure, so why would you need to clip them down differently?

Also, you need to check what fuel pressure the Cobra runs with. I think the mustangs and even the LS1 cars use higher fuel pressure than the LT1 cars, so with a lower pressure, you're going to have a lower rating as well.

For instance, the SVO 30# Ford injectors are actually closer to 28# I believe in an LT1.

Its actually opposite, the fords run like 38lb of fuel pressure and lt1 I believe is 43 or so and its supposed to make a 39lb ford injector into approx 40.5lb. Something like that is what i've read anyway. The ford 39's clip in differently than stock to the rail, nothing to do with different fuel pressure, just mechanics.

Incorrect. SVO 30#ers are closer to 37#ers on LT1s.

Unless they are a steal I would pass. The connectors are not the same IRCC.

You can find em all day around $100 shipped for 8 so they are pretty cheap IMO. That was why I was asking.

The correct number is 30 x (43.5 / 39.15)^0.5 = 30 x (1.1111)^0.5 = 30 x 1.0541 = 31.62 #/HR.

Re: Stock 03 cobra 39lb injectors in LT1?

I'm bumping an old thread(made the same post on LS1tech.com too), but I'm looking into getting a new set of 39# FMS injectors(M-9593-M39) for my LT1. I know I'll need harness adapters for them.

http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=5941

My current FMS 30# redtops(EV1 style) work with the factory clips. Are there any clips that can be bought to work with the 39# units?

I'd say my biggest concern is that the manifold tip of the injector is showing 0.521" and the LT1/LT4 rebuild book shows the intake injector hole as 0.543" in diameter. I didn't realize that the 30# units were 0.545" on the intake manifold end(looking at the summit specs). The stock units are around 0.572" on the manifold end for reference. Almost makes me want to double check what I already have for slight vacuum leaks.

Are there any good injector o-ring kits out there to resize the o-rings if necessary?

Any input from somebody running these would be great.
