Still want a SPEC???
Re: Still want a SPEC???
I have had the 2 stage 3 and now on a stage 5 both 3 lasted me 15,000 miles and a ton of track passes and street passes. I think when people upgade a performance part they forget to get performance you have to give up wear and or easy stack grab. I dont think alot of people are replacing the flywheel or there they want too cut it to many times. I have seen peeps put back in flywheel that had to many hot spots in them to consider reusing. Just my O2.
On the twin too many people ls1's and lt1's are having issues with the twin. I watch a friend break the center out of one and didnt have 500rwhp.

Its grabs not much harder than a 3 ceramic. Thats not the problem believe it or not. I have the billet steel flywheel and if you ever rode in a few LS1 with rev locks you have notice the loud noise it makes. My sounds like worn out brake pads in first with a slipping belt.(people who arent car people think something is wrong). It also makes those between gears. It is loud and I took the drag radials off for a while cause my neck would hurt from normal accel. There is no slipping this clutch and it chatters like hell in reverse. All in all I love this clutch. I am hard core and drop the hammer @ 7000 on srpay and shift in the 5's My nitrous shuts off a 3000 and if the tires dont blow off witch my 275 60 15 bfgs hardly ever do sometimes the rpm with bog the car out. I have broke one steel and one aluminum with this.
I like it. I recomend it to hard core only with a new billet. Another thing about flyweels is cutting them can change the balance a little like worn tires sometimes need rebalanced.
I go by relentless on pbfbody

I don't know alot about the new Cobra's but why would someone put a SPEC in one? Don't they come with twin disc clutches from factory? I swear I have a couple vids and this guy has a little over 600rwhp in his 03 Cobra on a stock clutch and it doesn't slip yet.
But on another note, the SPEC stage III is a POS. I went thru 2 of them in a year. Now I'm on a stage IV disk. The street twin may cost around $300 to rebuild but all you need for the SPEC is a new disk which is usually around $100. Thats all it costed me to upgrade mine
Unless the PP is wore of course.
