Re: still over heating??

Did you bleed the air? Use the correct LT1 t-stat?

Re: still over heating??

Did all that and found out head gasket was blown on 2 cylinders. Did not run bad, just aways had temp problems when sitting in traffic. Did seem to use water, but none in oil.
1995 lt1 79,000 miles on it. Now did valve job and new gaskets.
Hope it is not your problem.
I forgot, first thing I did was bleed, bleed, it is a pain.
I assume my problem was the water was steaming out the exhaust from the 2 bad cylinders. When I took it apart, those pistons and all around were clean, clean ,steam cleaned.
How about the heater core, that might have a leak up front.

Do you know how to properly bleed the system? If not, do a search on here.

Re: still over heating??

I wouldn't have ran Dec cool I would've put the green stuff in it instead. Dec cool is some nasty stuff it will eat out the inside of the motor and aluminum if not taken care of right.

I've been running DexCool for 16 years without any problems.
