steam pipe

steam pipe

I am removing the drivers side head and wanted to know can I remove the intake without taking both sides of the steam pipe out.Just going to remove drivers side but leave the passenger side alone.

removing the intake does not involve removing the steam pipe. You will have to disconnect the steam pipe from the from the driver's side head, though.

On my 97 the pipe runs up the pass. side of the intake where the hose connectsto the rad. just wanted to make sure I don't run into a problem.

I'd recommend you remove the steam pipe. When reinstalling the intake manifold it's pretty much necessary to drop it straight down on the heads. The steam pipe will make that sorta tough...especially if you're doing it alone. You can always bend it out of the way but it'll probably break....
