Starts then dies...

Okay this isnt for my car, but it is my old motor swapped into an S10. I am helping the guy with tunning etc.

The motor turns over and starts for about 2 seconds then shuts off, not even long enough to trip a code

I have checked a few things.
-Fuel pressure good and solid.
-TPS is in its Okay zone.
-Getting power to the ICM and Coil
-turned OFF VATS

He DOES NOT have
-o2 sensors on it, or and IAT sensor.
Would this cause an issue to not stay idling?
I was thinking maybe BC no o2s it was going into limp mode and SD so it needed the IAT to measure air?

He doesnt have a great ground on the motor, so we tossed on another and still didnt run.

I am gonna go back tomorrow with my sensor from my car since I am in my turbo build and mine isnt running yet.

Any suggestions?

Jay

Sounds like VATS may not be really turned off. Get the O2s and IAT working, too.

Well i guess after I left he had it run for like 1 minute. I told him make a proper ground like a 4awg min to the block, and I will be back tomorrow with my o2s and IAT.

Hopefully she runs tomorrow!
