starting problem
starting problem
i have recently bought my camaro when i go to start it i have to wait for the battery to "charge" up you could say then the car usualy starts right up. i think it might be a mix of the starter and the battery but im not that sure.
Does the starter turn the engine over? If the engine turns over and not starting right away, it sounds like your fuel pump needs to prime. If the check valve at the fuel pump is bad (or a leak, stuck injector, etc) it will cause a loss of fuel rail pressure when sitting for a period of time.
Hey man there is nothing charging the battery until the car has started then the belt driven alternator charges the battery up constantly. If its trying to crank over then the battery are doing there job and it still has nothing to do with the alternator. There are a list of things that could be wrong like fuel not reaching injectors due to leak, clogged filter, bad pump, also intake manifold vacuum leaks, dirty air filter, loose connections on the engine ground, or somewhere in the ignition system. Also if the engine tries to turn over but you notice that when as its trying it actually turns the engine in a slow manner that could be your battery being discharged. One time i had my battery go out, one of the cells went out. So there was power getting to the starter but not enough to rotate the engine. Let me know man if you can tell that when the engine rotates strong when your trying to start it every time then its definately not the battery of starter.
