Starting Problem
Starting Problem
well. I had my camaro off the road for a few months for the winter and recently ( yesterday ) I went to go start it up. All I got is a click ( didnt wanna turn over ) and the power went away to everything. I figured the batter was just dead I forgot to disconnect the terminal. Anyways. I just bought a new battery and put it in and I'm getting the same problem. Just a click when I try to turn it over and the car loses all power/electricity after. I am thinking it's my starter but is there anything else that can cause this problem ( The electricity may just be due to bad connection on the battery ) but do starters go bad after just sitting there? The starter has been a known problem on my car what makes it eat up starters? 1995z28 6spd.
Any time that I have have this issue it is because my positive battery terminal connection was loose. It seems to occasionally vibrate loose and I have to tighten it/shift one of the wires to maintain correct contact with the battery. I should honestly fix the cabling itself but I have not yet. Anyway, something you could check.
The time my battery actually died the car did not act like this at all, my car would attempt to turn over and just not cut it. The clicked and losing all power sounds exactly like my loose terminal issue.

when my battery died before all it would do is click alot. there wasnt enough power to engage the starter just the selinoid, even with a jump pack on it would do the same thing had to either hook it up to a charger or jump from another car.
