Starting Problem
Starting Problem
Well, its not on my LT1, it is on my 1986 RX7 I just bought.
The starter is very obviously turning, but the flywheel isnt spinning. The motor is NOT locked up, I hand turned it.
Bad starter? The thing is... I looked at it in my hand while my GF turned the key, and it looked like the damn thing was poppin out the way it should....
Suggestions? I think imll buy a starter today... and maybe a tranny...

I know enough about them from an employee of mine to stay away from them. The apex seals are the worst and most common problem. I don't know if the starters have to be shimmed like our cars or not. I wouldn't think however, that they would have that much play side to side, that the starter gear could miss the flywheel without at least touching it though.
I suggest you get on the RX7 web site. Those guys know everything
