Is it a manual tranny (M6) or an automatic (A4)? If its an A4, what rear axle ratio does it have? Have you done everything necessary to insure all the components are in top condition, including plugs, wires, fresh fluids, new filters, etc? Is "racing on weekends" drag racing or something related to Auto-X or road racing?
yeah, what he said, maybe post a signiture so everyone knows what car you have as well, the initial tune up is really the way to go, my car ran like crap with all of these mods on it and a set of plug wires changes everything.

Well, in San Antonio, you will probably mainly going against Hondas----so I believe that Nos is going to be the best bang for the bucks. So just make sure your engine is in good condition and add juice.JMHO
3.73's and a higher stall converter are really going to wake it up. Sticky tires are necessary, as well. Cold air intake, as much of an exhaust system as you can afford - catback at a minimum, long tube headers + catback is better. Then upgrade the LCA's and add LCA relocation brackets for good traction. Don't forget the low $$ item - bypass the coolant on the throttle body, swap in a 160* t'stat, reprogram the fans for lower on/off temps. Even with a relatively stock engine, a custom mail-order tune will net you at least 12-15HP, so that's a good idea when you have the PCM corrected for the 3.73 gears, and the lower fan temps.
