Starter Solenoid...where can I get one?
Starter Solenoid...where can I get one?
I broke the stud off of my starter solenoid the other day.
I was able to take the solenoid appart ( I wouldn't recommend this) and put another stud in as a temporary fix.
The problem is that now that I have had the solenoid apart the plastic where the studs mount tends to want to move around in the solenoid housing.
All I really need is a solenoid but I can't seem to find one anywhere. The only way to get a new solenoid is to pay $125 and a starter comes attached free of charge....
Anyone no if the solenoid is available anywhere?

As I understand it, the solenoid is not separately replaceable as it is in earlier years. Starter and solenoid are serviced as one unit. If you can find an automotive electrical shop, they might be able to provide you with what you need.
