starter? and remote?

Ok I have a 1997 camaro Z28.
I need to replace the starter I'm going to get the LT4 starter.
Now I need to get a starter from a 96 corvette engine code P right?
so if I get this starter It's a plug and play kinda deal right?
and the dam remote on my car is toast I have to be right on top of it to set the alarm pop the trunk open the doors.
want can I do to get some more range out of it?
I put a new bat in it and reset the transmitter but no luck.

Thanks for any help,

Chris G.

LT4 Starter GM 10455709 About 160 shipped from Jason Cromer..
Fits no problem..
And I wouldn't ask for a 96 vette vin P starter you'd probably get an LT1 starter..
Ask for an LT4 starter..[or better yet to make it idiot proof the above GM p/n.. ]
