Starter problem this morning...can you name this sound???

Back when i had my clutch installed my car wouldnt start sometimes. Like the starter was locked up and it was just "click click clicking" when I turned the key over. After my clutch install i had no problem with it for 5 months. Now I went out to my car and its doing it again. I turn the key over, all the lights on the dash come on, the battery isnt dead, it just goes "click click click click" real fast. Is my starter gone?

I would hook some jumper cables up to it first cause it really sounds like a low bat, then I would check all your terminals.

Could it be my battery even if my power locks, windows, etc are still working?

Sounds just like a battery.. Takes more power to start a car then roll up a window.. Charge it up and see how it goes.. My starter is on its way out and it click's andi have to play w/ the key a few times for it to start.. I"m lazy what can i say..

Might even be a bad ground. Like someone else said, check your connections.

I checked the terminals and they were clean. So I checked the Voltage gauge on the dash and it was reading but looked low. So I rollded her backwards out of the driveway and bump started it and let it charge for a while and all is good. Thanks for the replies.
