Started my Jet-Hot LT Install this AM
Well, everything is going good so far, no major problems removing stuff, matter of fact, the rear bolts on my manifolds were allready loose!
I sat the old manifolds next to the new headers and HOLY SMOKES! What a difference in port size! I can't wait to get finished up and drive it.
I have all weekend untill tuesday set aside, so I'm inside now on a break. I still have to pull the 6 bolts on the passenger side off, pull the dipstick, replace motor mounts, along with install my new OTVC Taylor wires and plugs, and wedge those nice shiny headers in there. I just noticed the jet hot coating matches my chrome GMPP/SLP CAI pretty nicely
Well, anyway I'm headed back to turn some more wrenches, i'll check back in often to see whats goin on. Happy Holidays

If you think long tubes are a PITA wait until your first cam change...
This is for all those out there reading this that are inexperienced at working on these cars or cars in general. If you can't do a longtube install, you're probably not going to be able to do the harder stuff later on like heads, cam, etc., and certainly dropping a motor, rebuilding it and putting it back in is going to be a daunting task.
My advice for those out there is just to take it one step at a time...this whole hobby is nothing more than taking stuff apart and putting it back together. Take your time and be patient and you can do it. Long tubes aren't that hard but if its your first time its probably going to take you a while.

Just finished up the other manifold, taking a break for dinner, no big hurry. I've got the radio cranked up and I'm just chillin

Yeah...putting in the Headers wasn't really that frustraiting. Even though I only did the shorties it was a task getting them in...but it was an enjoyable task. As long as your prepared before and are aware of what neets to be taken out and how it should go in it's pretty simple...
So far I think the most annoying thing to work on is the Tranny. The Bolts are very difficult to get to.

Well, now the mounts are out, gotta drill ouy the dadgum rivets for my prothane ones to go in. Might call it a night after that, or mess with those plug wires, i got those nice 1200 degree heat wraps for the boots. I also have a Huge roll of nomex floating around in the shop so I might just cover up some other wiring in the engine bay....
its just a suggestion those wires are more durable and can stand the heat that the lts give off . . .i never said you will gain anything. . but i am saying they will outlast anyother wire out . . ive been through alot of wires and the accel extreme 9000s have been the best wire ive came across. . .well it was just a suggestion . . .you dont need to change your wires
taylors are junk. i've had two sets and they both arc'ed after a few weeks maybe a month. My friend had the same problem. We both went to MSD's and love them. Taylors are junk. Most people get taylors and find out they're junk then replace them with something better. So why not skip that step and start out with some nice wires.
