Started my Jet-Hot Install today... how do you think I'm doing??

Well... today I finaly got started on my Jet-Hot LT install!

I've never doen ANYTHING with cars before... besides changed my oil, diff, and tranny fluid, installed my K&N cai.. and the ever so hard TB bypass lol

Anyway... today at my school we had a carnaval thing. So we got out after lunch, and instead of going to it, I brought my car into the shop and got started.

I was expecting to be using the hoist.. but it was being used for today. So I was a little trown off but no biggy. I was working from 12:40 untill 6:20ish... so lets say 5.5 hours. And this is what I got done

-Undid both AIR injections on the exhaust manifolds (didn't romove the right side one, can't just yet.)

-Romoved alternator

-lossend two left side manifold bolts at the front (couldn't get any others easily.. so I didn't bother)

-jacked up the car then started to undo the left side cat connecting to the manifold. I broke one a freaked out but then my shop teacher said it was no problem since they were studs. I didn't know it would still slip off. So I broke the other one and got the third one off.

-Spent a half hour undoing the cross over pipe (I think thats what it's called) the pipe from the left after the manifold the crosses over and is clamped to another peice.. and then that goes back some more into the y-pipe. I later realized I didn't need to! I thought the right side was the same.. but their both connected after the y-pipe.. so they both would have come out... oh well, live and learn!

-unhooked all three O2 sensors (didn't unscrew them from the pipe.. just the little clips)

-unfastened the right side flange connected to the manifold.

-dropped out the left cat and cross over pipe

And thats about all I have done as far as I can remember... I'll have the right pipe and the y-pipe out in no time the next time I work on it!

I think I got a lot done considering I'm only 17 and I've never done anything like this before! I thought this would take me forever!

How do you guys think I'm doing?? This has been awesome so far... I know the actual trying to put the headers in will be the most fun ever! lol Oh well.. I'm not too worried.

Any hints if you want would be helpful as well.

Thanks guys! Sorry for th elong post.. but had to share!

Rock on. The go-get-em attitude rocks, there's nothing wrong with wanting to get experience with cars, and letting other people do the work for you is no way to learn. Best of luck, sounds like you're on the right track.
