IT STARTED!!! (Does the happy dance)

YES, after about 1 month of work wiring and grease monkeying, my LT1 fired straight up and was loud as hell with open headers. Man I loved that sound. Ok had a little problem though, its idling at 5000rpm lol. I think I plugged in the vacuum line wrong but I had to head back to work which is where I am right now. http://shbox.com/1/fp_reg.jpg This vacuum line, instead of putting it on the bottom on the side of the intake, I put it on the top, would that cause my super high idle that was deafening when I started the car? Thanks.

bout 4-5 seconds, I knew that was waaaaaay too high. Not to mention the radiator isnt hooked up, just wanted to make sure everything worked before I put everything together.

I think your thinking it was normal for the idle to jump high then come back low, i've had that on a few cars, this was not the case, I have a feeling that vacuum line is throwing a lot of air into the intake simulating a WOT.

Doesn't really matter which port the vacuum line goes to. They put out the same vacuum.

No way you should be "idling" at 5k. You better check the throttle blades to be sure they are closed. Sounds like the cable is hanging them open. BTW, hope you checked your oil pressure.

Oil is fine, throttle blades are closed, I cant figure out why its idling like this, I hooked up data master to it and the computer thinks its going 140mph, I unhooked the VSS and it still thinks its going 140mph. I cant figure it out, any other ideas?

Something very weird going on. Better check all electrical connections and wiring. Maybe reset the PCM. What about the TPS reading?

Yeah, sounds like your TPS is going wacko..Did you mess with that sensor at all? If the TB are closed like you say then it should read .7V The voltage will go up to around 4.8V if the throttle is open 100%..

PCM was reset, TPS voltage is a constant .56. The IAC is wacko, its at 100+, I reflashed the PCm and now get a speed setting of 0. Not sure what is up, perhaps the IAC. Thoughts?

Wow, it has to be getting air from somewhere to be "idling" at 5k rpm. Double check all your hoses that could be allowing air into the intake. I dont think that a high IAC will allow enough air to idle that high. Possible your IAC is stuck open though and thus the high IAC counts.

Very Weird.
