Started car, 1st time since winter hibernation. ran fine, stalled, then fine. huh?

Well i pulled the car out of the garage from hibernation and it started perfectly, first turn of the key. i took it for a ride around town for maybe 10 min then pulled into the driveway to let it idle and check things out. As i get out of the car, it dies. i tried to restart it but it wouldn't idle. No codes, and it didn't seem to be air related since i couldn't keep it running even by giving it gas. Plus/wires/opti are all brand new, and it didn't feel electrical. So... fuel right?

I let it sit for a minute, and came back and it started, idled fine. I checked fuel pressure and it was stable at 39 psi., 43.5 with regulator vacuum hose unhooked. Unfortunately i couldn't get a fuel pressure reading when it was having trouble.

Could this have been just a small clog, that cleared itself? That's my best guess.

Thanks

You have old gas in your tank buddy. Siphon it out and put fresh fuel in there. New gas only lasts 2 months tops before it starts turning to paint thinner

Bad gas x3. I've worked on 2 f-bodies in the last couple months that sat for at least 6 months for each of them. One was a fuel pump, one was an opti. To make the story short, on both of them the gas was bad, had to drain the tank, fill both with new gas, replace fuel filters, and even pull the injectors and fuel rail and hit it with brake clean for both of them to start up. We're lucky though since our cars our return style fuel systems, where most of the time you can get away with just putting new gas in the tank cause any/alot of old gas just returns to the tank to get mixed with the new gas.
