Start Up Of New Cam & Heads?

Like it says I'm ready to start my new combo(in sig.) and just wondering if I should leave the 24# Injectors in it for startup? I have 30# SVO but I have not Purched the new tune from Ion throught Email yet, because I want to make sure it will run before I try the new tune. So is this a good idea and will I be OK?

P.S. I already have a Premium tune from Ion for everything except the cam and heads.

Thanks

You don't want different size injectors than what you have it tuned for. If you throw those in it will run rich and not tell you much.

I'd start it with the injectors that it's tuned for and then switch them later when you get the tune.

With your current setup the 24's will work just fine and you won't ever really see a difference until you get to WOT as the 30's might be a little better. Definitely best to wait until you get the PCM tuned for the 30's as you will just be washing your cylinders with gas.

What are "LE2 style" heads? Not being smart but you either have LE2's or you don't.

They are not Loyde's heads. But they have been ported by a local shop to flow the same numbers. So they are the same style.

Thanks to All. I thought I should leave the 24# until I installed the new tune.

Ehhh, not so much. Flow #'s are one thing, port design is another. Good luck with the car though. Right now, I'd be happy with some ported stockers from anybody that knows what they are doing but I'll hold out, it's no rush really.

Well the start up went REALLY WELL!!!!! It started on the first crank. the new cam and heads sound really good but it's still Ideling high. There were no leaks, but it held hight oil pressurs until it warmed up,then it cam down to where it usually was. I'm going to order a tune from Ion this week through Email, well see how that goes.

Thanks to everyone that took the time to answer my questions over the winter, this site is a wealth of info. just search or ask it's there. Also "Thanks" to the Guys that sold me parts, it good to deal with people that are car people and are true to their word.

When I get the tune I'll post a vid of how it sounds. Then it's off to the Dyno.
