To STart or not to Start. Worried about cold...
Hey guys its been a while since ive posted, but ill get right to the point. I got a 94Z that I put away in late november. It is stored outside with a cover in Michigan weather. I went to start it a month ago but the battery was dead, and I didnt have time to charge it. So I am back from school again this weekend, and want to start it tommorrow, but I am kind of worried bc its suppoed to be like 4 degrees tommorrow, and after the car has been sitting for almost 3 months im afraid somethings going to break. Also should i be worried about anything in particular after not starting it in so long? I know I am an idiot for not starting it in so long, no one has to point that out to me.

I don't live too far from you. The weather isn't too bad imo to start it, I wouldn't expect tomorrow to be too bad either. Start it up and let it warm up while watching the guages. Let it run a bit if everything is good to boil out moisture and such.

disconnect the ignition and turn it over a few times to let it prime if you are worried but it will be alright as long as you use good oil just dont rev it for the forst few minutes

If you want to be real **** about it, you could pull the plugs, disconnect the injector fuses in the underhood fuse panel and crank the motor over for a few seconds to get the oil flowing. You could also roll it into a garage overnight and let it get a little warmer than the outside air. You'll probably be ok just starting it up. But then again, you've waited this long, you could wait another couple of weeks until it's warmer outside.

Are you starting it up to take it out of storage? Or just to let it idle?
If your not taking it out of storage (or for a long drive) then I would say, just leave it. Starting it will only do more damage.
If your taking it for a drive or out of storage, pull the ignition harness, charge the battery, crank it untill you have oil pressure on the gauge, hook back up the coil, start it and let it idle for 15min, change the oil and your set to go!
