Standard volume vs. 10% volume on LT1 oil pumps.

Having trouble finding the right oil pump for my forged 355 LE2.
I dont want the Melling M55a due to the thin casting failures I have been reading about. I will be running the stock LT1 oil pan.

That leaves the Melling select:
10554 STD volume oil pump
10552 10% boost in volume oil pump

Can I run the 10% higher volume oil pump without having the pan sucked dry issues or should I stay at the STD volume. I think the majority of the problems have been from the 25% oil pumps.

What do you guys think about these two pumps.
Thanks

I was commenting on the wrong pumps, those were 5/8 pickups.
I need the 3/4 pickup, it was deleted to reduce confusion.

I would go with the 10552 or 10552C if I didn't already have the M55A. I think the extra volume is great and won't suck the pan dry. Looks like the pickup bolts on as well.

Yes,
So the question is will there be any pan dry issues with the 10% over standard oil pressure. Brett responded to the other and said no, however I want to hear from those that might be running this pump.

I have a 10552 with stockish pan. I spin to 7k at the track and have not sucked the pan dry. Make sure you loctite the bolts on the pickup, I had mine fall off!

Tac welding is not a bad idea either.

What bearing clearances do you run.
My new shortblock has .0022" - .0025" on the rods and mains. I am still trying to make the best decision to get the best oil pump for my 355 LE2. The choice is stock volume or 10% extra on the pump volume.
