stalls please help

alright the prob is the car smells like it is running extremly rich. it starts fine and idles ok but as soon as you drive it every time u let off the gas it stalls. now i just put a 306 in it and have talked to bryan at pcmforless. he said it should still run ok but not perfect with the tune i had done before for the 224/230. hes thinking that the rockers might still be over adjusted. could this cause the real rich smell i am also not noticing a miss at all. plug wires are ok and the timing marks are dead on. any ideas guys oh yeah there are no vacuum leaks at all.
please help
thankss nate

Have you checked for a dead cylinder like manifold temperature or pulling a plug wire at a time? Do you smell gas in the oil? Did you check to see what happens to the fuel pressure when you shut it down as in drops fast or slow? Did you check the vac line on the FRP to see if it's wet? Have you pulled any plugs to see what they look like? This may be of some help. http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/engine/plugs.html

We need some more info to help you.

Re: stalls please help

hey slopok i appreciate your help thanks. i did all the chks and everything chkd out ok, no gas smell in the oil, fuel press is fine and the plugs look good.
no i did re-run the valves tonight just to be sure. now for more info, the car starts fine and idles fine but as soon as you drive it it feels like it is loading up on fuel and falls on its face real bad, do u think the stock ignition cant keep up? i dont have the crane or the inline pump hooked up yet. everything was disconnected when i rebuilt the motor this time again. i know the opti is fine. im stumped do u think the tune could be off that bad by going to the 306 from the 224/230. oh yeah im also running colder plugs and they are gapped at .035 for the nitrous. help me figure this out please guys.
im running out of ideas.

Only thing left to do is scan it real time as you drive to see what the sensors are seeing. For example, see what the PCM is seeing from the temperature sensor. If the PCM thinks it's cool, it will stay in open loop even though it's hot. Just an example. Could be anyone of several things.
