Stalling in drive WTF

Every once in a while when I put the car in drive it just stalls. It happens in all different conditions but not that often. Mechanic said that he has no idea what it is. It happens very seldom but more so lately. I can be driving and park the car leave it running but when I go to pull out of the spot it dies as soon as I put it in drive. Any ideas at all its driving me nuts.

Check your idle air control first. Its on the bottom of the throttle body. Chances are its all gunked up and needs to be cleaned wit some throttle body cleaner. Get all the carbon and sticky stuff out and away from the springs and plunger and see if that helps your problem.

Mine wouldnt die, but come very come close to it sitting in traffic, then surge soon after. I took a wild guess and cleaned my IAC valve/motor assembly. It runs perfect now. All you need is some TB cleaner, a new TB gasket (it was $2.50 or something), a 10 mm rachet, 5/16 wrench? i think, and an hour at the most if you really take your time. Oh, if you havent bypassed your TB coolant lines this is a great time to do that. All you need is a 3/8 inch barb fitting (from Lowes or somewhere). Hope this fixes your prob.
