Stalled no crank help
Hi there, I have a 1995 trans am lt1. I recently started the car, and after a few minutes it staled. When I tried to restart, there was nothing. The security light was off, and I had dash lights and radio. Just nothing whe I cycled the key, it's not the battery. I also noticed when I came back to the dar after, and cycled the key I did not hear the fuel pump prime? Baffled? Thanks
Re: Stalled no crank help
Does the instrument panel do the 3-second bulb check when the key is turned to “RUN”?
Is the “SES” light on?
And the fuel pump does not prime for 2-seconds when you turn the key to “RUN”?

Re: Stalled no crank help
Check the status of the pump by connecting 12 volts to the fuel pump prime connector near the PCM. That bypasses the relay.

Re: Stalled no crank help
thanks, i will look at the pump. but to me the fact the started is not being engaged, and the pump is not priming seems to point to different issue. Is there a ruse or relay that is linked to both?
Re: Stalled no crank help
The fuel pump check is easy. If it runs, and you backtrack, it leads to the ignition switch, as does failure of the starter to engage.
In the under hood box, fuse #5 "PCM IGN" supplies ignition switched power (in the "START" position) to the fuel pump relay, the theft deterrent module (controls power to starter solenoid), and the PCM and MAF sensor.
If you want to go direct to the ignition switch, check for 12 volts on pin "A" in connector "C2" (yellow wire), with the key in the "START" position.
