Is stall converter causing my car to die??

Alright i just got my car running again today and i have a stock converter which has had set to a stall of around 2600. I took the car on a test drive today and when i was at the light i put the brake down and revved it to about 2200 rpm, when i let off the gas the car died, it also does the same thing in reverse, i was backing up in some grass and i would tap the gas and let off real qucik and it would die. It doesnt hesitate or anything , it just dies, like someone turned the key, afterwards you can put it in park and it will start right up. The transmission shift good and its full of fluid so i dont think its the transmission or anything, also bc it doesnt die in park when i rev it up i think it has something to do with the converter or something?

hmmmm, Does it run fine other wise under all conditions? Only thing I can think of it the throttle blades are too closed and when you snap off the throttle the motor isn't getting enough air. Might also be a dirty/fault IAC valve.

The car runs fine when its in park, i can rev it all i want and let go of the throttle, it only does it when the car is in drive or reverse. So should i try a differant computer, would a computer from a 94 a4 work on my 95 a4?? I could pull my friends out of his car and put it in mine just to test it. Thanks for the responses, Dustin.

I should also mention that it doesnt hesitate or anything, it just shuts off, almost like the key was turned to shut the car off, i would think if i was my throttle body or IAC vavle it would shake a bit and then die, but it doesnt, I am kinda stumped here so i need a lil help from all you pros out there, Dustin.
