ok guys heres the deal. how come when im running my car at 70mph on the highway it spins at 2100 rpms and other times it spins at 3200 rpms. its like the car cant decide to go into overdrive. ill be going to work in the morning and the car will be at 2100 rpms, then ill go to lunch it will be hitting 3200 rpms. what the hell is the deal. the car hasnt been tuned. im using a 3000 lockup stall and a 503 cam. are my shift points all jacked up or do i need a shift kit. the stall locks up fine, but the rpms will jump up and down a 1000 rmps. could a bad altenator cause this? i hope a simple tune will correct this. please help me guys later.

 

when it goes to 3200 is the trans at operating temp?

 

sounds like your losing OD

chekc your fluid level

3:23 + 1:1 tranny (3rd gear) @70mph = 3200 rpms
