Are Stainless Steel Brake lines worth it?

It is time for me to do a brake job and was wondering if the stainless steel lines are worth it. I will not be doing anything other than normal driving. What benifits are there to the SS brake lines? What brand would you use?

They will give you a firmer pedal feel but no one has yet to quantify any improvement in braking distance.

IMO just stick with the stock lines.

I'm using the Earl's Brand of BArke lines. They manage the brake fluid better than the stock lines. Sine their made of steel they can handle heat better. Don't know about BRake distance alegedly it's supposed to help...but I did the Slotted rotors along with the lines...It's a good investment can't hurt...but hte bad thing is if you snap one you have to buy and entire new brake kit.

<--------Found out the hard way.

I have Earl's stainless steel brake lines and while they did make the brake pedal firmer, I really didn't notice any change in vehicle stopping. same applies for the slotted and rotors and hawk brake pads. However with only 11" of vacuum from my cam I doubt they would help very much.

I could notice quite a differnce. you can put more presure to the pad and not to the line with these.
