stage 8 header bolt sizes

stage 8 header bolt sizes

Im lookin to buy some locking header bolts for my lt1 do i need 3/4 long or 1 inch long? also does anyone run stage 8 header bolts on pacesetter long tubesif so do they fit well?

I used 1" bolts on my headers, they were actually for a Ford application.
Should work just fine with any aftermarket headers.

i take it you have the same problem everyone with pacesetters have...

im going that same route, and installing earl pressure gaskets

well i got the motor out so going to use some percey's alumium gaskets with locking header bolts i was hoping to get breslins but there out of business.btw the coating on those headers suck mines flakin off after 1 year and half

Use 1"
3/4" are too short.

IMHO, the stage 8 bolts are junk. You get the damn things nice and tight just to back them off to get the locks on. I used 1" arp stainless w/ the 5/16" head and some lock washers and they haven't looened up yet.

Sometimes you have to do a little grinding and custom fitting of the aluminum retainers. It is a PITA but they do the job. I had the same ARP's and they always backed out in the places you could not reach.

I agree with the above, use the 1" bolts. I originally used 3/4 inch bolts, but the thick Pacesetter flanges used them up pretty quick.
