Stage 8 .750" bolts okay to use with Percy's gasket???

I remember reading that somebody thought that the stage 8 bolts were too short to use with percy's dead-soft gasket... I like the fact that the stage 8's have the allen screw. I'm thinking about getting ARP 1" long 3/8 hex head bolts but I will hold off if the stage 8's will work.

I need a quick answer, are stage 8 bolts okay to use with Percy's dead soft aluminum gaskets (thickness wise).

I have Percy's and Stage 8s, but mine are 1" long.
I think you'll be ok with the 3/4 ones but it will be close...

Do they make 1" stage 8's??? How close will I be cutting it. I don't want any more freaking exhaust leaks. I'm absolutely sick of it.

Get nothing less than 1", 1 1/4' will probably work better. You have to remember the header flange is 3/8".

I think the SLP headers are 1/4 inch flange. The bolt locations are so ****ty I need the allen aspect of the stage 8's... I'm not paying 40 bucks for some stupid bolts that cost 2 cents a piece. If I get any they will be the 1 inch black oxide ARP's.

The black oxides will start rusting, get the stainless steel.

They sure do make 1" long ones.

That's what I have.

I didn't try 3/4s myself, but I've read someone saying that they did.

I have percy's with 3/4" stage 8 bolts. They were a PITA to install but i got it done. You can only get the bolts to barely catch the threads so you have to snug them up one at a time constantly working the header down evenly so you don't put to much stress on one bolt. If i would of thought ahead about how thick the gaskets were i would of gotten 1" bolts.

I think I may just use the stage 8's I have now and then when I end up doing an engine/heads in the future, replace everything with ARP's including the header bolts.

I have the Percy's and 3/4 Stage 8's myself. It will work but your better off with the 1 in. bolts.
