I trying to order a SS hood. The individual say's if i can give him a vin number he could find me a hood easier.
So could i possibly borrow someone's Lt1 SS vin number.

I would ask permission from a real SS owner or pay him a little bit of money to buy it for you if you absolutely must have the overpriced GM hood. Who knows what sort of trouble you might get into if you order the hood and they get suspicious and start calling around...

I guess your trying to get one from SLP.They want vin numbers so everyone can't turn Z28's into SS's which would make my car numbered plaque not a "special" as it once was...JK
I would pass on the vin but when I ordered a new air box from them they asl a lot of questions as to why you need a replacement and they do log this as replacement so anyone looking at buying a car and has enough knowledge to call SLP, they can tell the seller what's been replaced which is bad for the SS the vin came from.
I know this because I call SLP to verify my vin and what replacement parts were ordered if any.
Best bet is to go aftermarket. They're probably cheaper and you wont screw up anyone car history with SLP...

I can agree they do ask a lot of questions. Like color and proof of ownership and stuff. I got the vin I used for my stuff from the local camaro/firebird salvage yard. I bought some ss stuff from them and they gave me a vin of a totalled 96 black ss. I would gladly give it to you, except I lost the damn thing. i bought all of my stuff off of totalled out ss's. One was screwed up in front, so I got the spoiler from it, and the other in the rear, got the hood from it. Your best bet is to try and get it at a salvage yard, and you will save some money. They are however a dime a dozen to find. Good luck

The only reason i wanted the hood, is to make easier for a gm dealer to try to find the part number. But what from i understand they won't find it, since it's only SLP that has them. And SLP hood are back ordered
I guess ill have to wait for a wreck SS!

I know I will get sh*t for this, but I completely oppose someone giving or getting a legit VIN to get SS parts.
