SR valve springs

Ive searched the board looking at what everybody is using for Valvesprings for there big lift SR cams. There hasnt really been alot discussion on what everyone is running for springs. The cam im running with 1.6rr has about .670ish lift. Im not really versed on whats good seat pressure for a cam with this much lift. I would appreciate all the help I can get from those in the know.

Do you know what brand and designation your cam is or is it a custom made cam? If off-shelf, you should be able to get a spec card---maybe it is even on-line---and it whould recommend the spring pressures and heights.

Hopefully you know what brand of cam you have. If that's the case then that's all you need. Call the manufacturer and ask what spring they would recommend. There really isn't just one "jack of all trades" spring that'll work especially with a SR application.

Isky "9375 PLUS" is the spring I use the most.

What is your installed height? What does the cam card recommend?

You have good stainless valves right?

Its a Lazer cam, the duration @ .020 is 288/296, @.050 it 254/261. The gross lift on intake and exaust is 636 with 1.5 rockers on a 108 lsa. Ive tried calling them a few times but get no answers. Im just looking to see whats a good spring to run and what everybody has had good luck with.

I have Isky Tool Room springs on a very similar cam in my car....I will have to look up spring pressures when I get home.

580 open seems like it rings a bell, closed I cant remember.

Your installed height is needed to come up with a spring - the springs that I posted earlier should be a perfect fit if your installed height is 1.970" it is a toolroom outer/silicon inner.

If your installed height is closer to 1.900" then a 9315 may be right.

I've heard good things about the Isky tool room sprimgs and lifters. Ive looked at the cam card several times and dont see a recomended install height anywhere. Is there a way I can find out the install height of the cam without getting ahold of the cam grinder or at least close?

The installed height needs to be measured on your heads.
