Pellet-type catalysts haven't been used i a long time so there are no "little *****" in your cat. If you hear it rattling at idle, and it's the catalytic converter itself (as opposed to some heat shielding or the like) than you'er hearing the infamous cat "death rattle" Expect your cat to collapse, causing a major exhaust restriction and possibly plugging the muffler as well. If it is the cat I'd inspect the ignition system closely before simply replacing.

Tighten the rear control arms bolts. Mine did that for a while, also. I tightened them and it worked for a while. Then it started again. I changed the bolt and nut and no more squeaking. The bolt was stripped in a few areas and eventually worked loose after a few days.

I use the shortened "cat" for "catalytic conv." all the time, BUT am I the only one who first pictured a kitty cat sitting on the floorboard with its b...uhs rattling against the floor

I had a bushing walk out of one of my rear c-arms. Squeaked like a bitch.

Muahahahaha................I found Mr. Squeaky

It was an exhuast hanger. The hook on the hanger that goes through the the bushing was rubbing up against something else that was metal. My buddy at an exhaust shop said that it was common and fixed it for free.
