Sputtering, Bad Opti?

Ok, well heres the deal, my car has had a pretty big powerloss recently, and it almost feels like its sputtering at some points. Almost like its not getting gas or something. She obviously needs a tune at 55k, but I was wondering if anyone thought the Opti would need to be done, or if you had a better diagnosis. Thanx!

Scan the car for any codes it may be throwing.

Change the plugs and wires and scan the car. If still the same or similar, then I would vote opti. Mine did that, opti was junk. Sputtered in the low end, missed up top, otherwise drove ok. Changed the opti and tuned it up, went away. I did plugs and wires first, didnt' change much, then did opti and yup, runs good.
