Hey guys, today when i drove my car it ran perfectly until it got up to operating temp. Then it began missing, or cutting out and i could hear detonation sounds between 1500 and 2000 rpm with about 1/3 or little more throttle. Just a little throttle and it runs smooth and a lot of throttle and it runs smooth. Could this be a coil problem? If it were a fuel problem it would happen more than just with these conditons? Please reply. Original spark plug wires, plugs changed on 30,000 miles and now has 65,000.

Has anyone use accel super coil 140011 as a replacement? Good or bad? How about Echlin (Napa) replacement coil?

Might check to see if the water pump is leaking down onto the distributor.But first,change out the coil wire and see if this helps.My02
