300 miles after the cam install, and 50 miles after I dropped the oil pickup, looks like i've spun a rod bearing. Got the pickup fixed, but I guess the couple times I lost pressure toasted the bearings. Started knocking lightly today. Hopefully new bearings can fix it and the crank isnt badly scored.

Time to save up for the forged 383 =)

 

feel your pain bro ....I had the same probem with my 95 z28...Make sure that you check all clearances before you put everything together. Or for the best, do a 383

To be honest I been there 3 times (with the same car). Make sure that EVERYTHING is measured at first time!!! You will save lots of $ and time if you do it right....
