spun bearing

well my car's oil pressure drops to almost zero after the motor warms up. I replaced the oil pressure sensor and the oil pump to see if it would fix it, but nope still does the same thing. So it looks like a bearing, unless someone has something else to try.

now decision is, do i try to rebuild this thing? what would i need to do a stock rebuild? places I can get the parts?
not looking to spend a ton of money. but i'd like it running again.

Honestly if only looking for a stock motor in the end you would be further ahead to just get a used stock engine.

Check out the classifieds here for someone selling a stocker after they put in a built motor or I have had decent luck with www.car-part.com

A junkyard motor can be a good buy if you look it over good, if its setting in the weeds with the hood off pass on it...lol

Make sure to just go ahead and replace your seals and gaskets unless its a fresh rebuilt motor.

if you do it right...and with good forged internals.....around 1100 for the rotating assembly plus a good 1200 for a shop to put it together on average... around texas that seems to be the average price when i called around. so at least 2300...

then you got things like heads, springs, cam to utilize the extra cubes, roller rockers....

it isn't cheap

then with that extra power you gotta beef up your drivetrain and suspension

A GOOD 383 shortblock will cost a lot more than that.
