springs for the iron heads?

95 Iron Lt1 heads, need springs to support the 224/230 (believe it's the cc305). Do the iron heads have the same diameter as the aluminums? I was over on the impala board and their suggestions are all over the place for the iron heads. Can I get some springs/retainers for these heads that won't require machining?

Thanks, matt

The seats are smaller on the iron heads, you can't get as big of springs for them without machining & I don't think the ones mentioned woulf fit either. Not only that, the iron heads have holes where the pushrods travel instead of one big hole, so with increased lift the pushrod might touch the head & rub or break things.

Iron heads use a smaller pocket.

Here is the thread you need, http://www.impalassforum.com/cgi-bin...c&f=1&t=004804 I would say you need the 613s.
