Spring type & Spring Pressure?
Spring type & Spring Pressure?
What's the best spring to go with on my cam?
236/248 .570/.571 105.5 LSA
I've heard of a good couple like the comp doubles or beehives or pac beehives.
I was wondering what spring type I should use for a DD hydraulic roller?
Also what about spring pressure? What are the adv/disadv to a high spring pressure seated and open?

yea i know. ha. I bought it off another member who go it custom ground and he said it fell between cc306 and gm847 which is what I was shooting for. I'm using a low stall because its my DD and I don't care about how I "launch". Where is the card you are talking about? On the outside of the comp cam box?

. Just a word of warning, but don't take my word for it, try it yourself. Everyone has different tolerances of what they can live with. The cam card should have come with the cam - it has all sorts of nifty information like the in depth specs besides just duration/lift/LSA and all the recommended parts to run it with.
Sounds like a killer NA grind, and it will idle like its possesed
.
yea, I know it's going to have some surge to it. But I'm fine with that. I go pretty hard on the throttle in the city so it'll be quickly passed. I wanted a bigger stall, and maybe if I can pick one up I will, but for sure will get a tranny cooler with it so I wouldn't kill it with temps. Break downs are not an option. But for sure I'm getting 30-36lb injectors to go with it. And my rear ratio is 4.11 not 3.73 like I thought. That'll help won't it?
120-150# on the seat and 300-350# open. Beehives wouldn't be a bad idea but a good conventional spring will work as well. I wonder how you are going to like that cam? As "Puck" said, everyone is different. I doubt I could live with it in a DD. That cam has a LOT of overlap. However, the 4.11's will help, so maybe it won't be so bad.

that thing will be annoying to drive in a DD imo
then again I'm a baby cam guy
btw big cams mess with driveability ALOT more than a big convertor, too many people believe anything over a 2800 or so stall is for race cars only

Don't worry about 7 degree v. 10 degree retainers. Get the retainers recommended for the springs you decide on. That Patriot kit seems way to cheap. Doesn't cost much more than the price for a good set of Ti retainers. Something in it must be junk.
