Spring recommendations for 503 cam

Just like the title says, what are you guys running or would recommend with the CC 503? Didn't pull much info up with a search.

Thanks

any double valve spring will do, check out crane 10-308 springs, they are popular

Comp Cam 987 is what I am using. Good for .600 on paper but .580 to be safe. Install height was 1.800 I believe.

Thanks for the replies so far guys.

I forgot to mention I'll be using stock valves, if it matters. And I'd like to use something that doesn't require any machine work.

I was already leaning towards the 918's a little bit. At the same time, the insurance of a double spring would be nice too.

I'm running the 918 beehives here... they're a good spring for the CC503 due to the ability of the beehives to control valve action with the CC503's steep lobes.

Re: Spring recommendations for 503 cam

Alright, I picked up the 918's

I have a couple other questions.

First, what valve spring compressor are you guys with 918's using? I don't have one at all so I need to get one but I don't want to get something that won't work with the smaller diameter on the top of the spring/retainer. I know a lot of the ls1 guys use a pedastal type but i havn't seen any of those for much less than a hundred bucks, and this tool factors into my overall budget so something a little cheaper would be nice.

Next, since the heads are off and being cleaned up, I was going to replace the valve seals. What size and type of seal do I need?
