Spring question.......

Someone told me that a cheep way to get better traction is to put some V6 springs in the rear b/c they have a softer spring rate and would transfer weight better. I can do this for free really b/c my friend will swap w/me but has anyone dont this before? Is it worth the trouble? I dont have much money for mods thats why i figured this might be worth something.

I think the rears are the same, it would make sense since there isnt less weight in the rear, Im pretty sure people do this up front to allow the front end to lift up easier, im probably wrong, somebody else chime in if im wrong

Perhaps the fonts, but the rears are the same. I think you will do better using loose shocks than changing springs...

Better traction for what? Track or Street?

Tires and tire pressures are the number one things, in my opinion, to look at in terms of traction.

At the track, using street tires, skip the water, check the tire marks. If they are dark in the middle and light on the outer rims, you probably have too much air. If on the other hand they are light in the middle and dark on the outside, you have too little air. You want an even mark for the enire width of the tire indicating that you are getting maximum contact with the ground.

So much for pressure.

If you want good traction overall, then get a good tire. You may have to compromise if you live in a wet climate (all-season tires). If you live in a dry climate or never drive in the rain, you might be able to get a summer tire that provides more traction on dry pavement. Bear in mind, however, that you will suffer indeed if you try to put them on a wet surface. These lt1s will torque you 360 before you know what happened. JMHO
