Sprak plug wire and Thermostat Questions within...

My first question is in reguards to plug wires.
I have a 94 Z with 96K miles and about 2 years ago I bought the Taylor 8mm wires and NGK-tr55 plugs. I have had a problem with 1 wire that won't stay in the channel on the passenger side of the block where it makes it's turn to go to the plugs. I have a problem with the car cutting out when hot and I think the plug wire may have hit the pully while out of the groove it fits into on the corner of the block. Unlike others, I am trying NOT to blame the Opti becouse I don't want to perform that surgery.

Are Factory wires good enough for bolt on stuff or what should I get ?

Secondly, I installed a set of gears and bought a Hypertech programmer as well as the 160 thermostat about 5 years ago and I think the thermostat is stuck open. Just wondering if any 160 deg. thermostat will be OK to replace it with ?

Thanks in advance.

I was always told not to try to stuff aftermarket wires into the factory wire guides, and I found out that was true when I tore the crap out of one of my old (and brand spankin' new at the time) Accel wires. Take all of the wire routing crap off of the block and just zip-tie the wires away from the crank pulley.

If you buy new plug wires, I really liked my factory-fit Accel Extreme 9000 wires...covered them with some Spectre firesleeve stuff and they held up for three years. I'm running a different set of Accel wires now (longer due to the Delteq) and they're working great.

For a 160* thermostat, I think Hypertech is the only company that makes one for the LT1. I bought a non-Hypertech one originally from AutoZone and it turned out to be the wrong one...even though it's listed for an LT1, it's meant for a standard cooling system. Just go ahead and buy another Hypertech.
