Buddies car has super low idle and wont rev out of it.

My buddy was getting on the highway and punched his 97 ss a4 when the car fell on its face. He pulled it off the road and the idle was real low and would not rev out of it. He got it towed home and now is trying to diagnose it.

Have any of you guys had such a problem, and if so, what was it.

Thanks,
James

PS- he said that he did not hear anything that sounded like a mechanical breakage. this happend at about 5krpms. the car will start every time still, but it wont idle right.

i'd check fuel pressure, might have enough to idle roughly, but when hitting gas, goes lean cause of lack of fuel.

good luck.
