Split BLM and BBK 58mm?

Guys,

Now, I've asked this before and a lot of people here are in agreement that most aftermarket tb's need to be moded to better help with the IAC port esp on large duration cams. Solomon is helping me tune my 383 and so far has done an excellent job, now we are trying to solve the ever present split blms issue. Solomon has recc'd the following tips and diy's to help out, however my older BBK 58mm tb doesn't have the same crossovers into the tb that some of the aftermarkets in the diy's. What options to I have? Drill the hole in the front of the TB as mentioned? Any advice is much appreciated, and here is the links to the DIY's and a pic of my TB so you can get the idea.

Do you actually have a measured problem, or are you just ASSuming you have one?

WOW - Fred what's your deal?

Yes I have a problem, split BLM's avg around 115/130 on either side at idle. Not like this is a new topic buddy as it's been questioned many times.

One thing you can try is to open or close the throttle body blades a bit and see if it shifts the BLMS. I have the same throttle body and I did seal it off so that air didn't go through the blades to make it more like the stock throttle body, but I have always have a slight blm difference at idle - not as much as yours, though.

My "deal" is that I haven't seen too much data to indicate the engine is running satisfactorily, so I was wondering if you actually have some data that shows you have split BLM's, or whether you were just anticipating a problem.

Since this question appears to have upset you, I'll leave you alone.

Good luck.

Fred, I have been posting here for years and you have always been of help and I greatly appreciate that. I am not a NOOB by any means and as you are well aware - from your previous posts on my topics and also help you have provide me with. I do a lot on my car myself and have had this issue for quite sometime. I don't think I need to post up a uni file from Datamaster to prove this when I already know I have the issue and what is likely causing it. I just need input on the information provided above about the IAC passage and aftermarket BBK tb's. The reason I asked what your deal was is it is quite rude to post "ASSumption" insinuating that I am an *** when you offered ZERO input. This follows the old addage "If you don't have anything nice to say then why say anything".
