First off... how do you spell that word?
2nd... will a cam on a 120k car really make this event prone? I want a cam on my car, but my friend said it really increases that risk. And once you spin a ... It really ends the motors life. Well... that sucks... I'm not gonna cam my car if its going to break. Can you prevent this somehow?

Well, if you don't get a high reving cam, I suppose you'd be in better shape, longevity wise. I'd slap in a 210/224 w/ new lifters and 1.6rrs w/ springs to match and call it a day. JMHO

That's a great cam for stock heads....along with the Comp XE 218/224 and 224/230.

Since I spun a bearing at 7000 miles, I can't really say that it is the miles that makes the difference. Having said that, I will say that spinning a stock Lt1 much over 6000 RPM is probably not the best thing to do unless you are really held together well. Most of the power comes in less than 6000 grand unless you have a cam with big numbers that doesn't peak until your in the mid to high 6s, then I'd want to make sure my bottom end was healthy.
Depends on what you want to do. Milder cams mentioned can give you plenty of torque and power lower in the RPM range and still provide good performance.JMHO

So are you suggesting that the cam I want is to big? The XE 227/233 is to big of a cam? Or do you think that is alright? It is going to be used for my daily driver in the rain and snow as well as providing plenty of power when called upon.
He said what makes this cam great is the excellent pull up top. So, it makes driving the snow easier witht he decrease in power down low. Suggestions please... think i'm heading the wrong direction? Thinking about things the wrong way?

Well, as long as I keep revving it to 5800 and nothing more as if its stock... the chances decrease correct? Almost as if its a stock car.
Plus, what does the cam have to do with the bottom end and spinning the bearing on the crank?
