Speed/Tach Help 93 to 1994 Conversion PROBLEMS!

I just swapped my speed/tach from the yellow to black and white layout from a 1994 CamaroZ28! Now all the gauges work aside from the Tachometer, when i press the gass it doesnt go up, but instead reverse's down to 0 rpms? The car is still accelerating just the tach wont increase like it should? Is there something different on the 1993's for there RPM measurement? Is there someway to fix this? Any and all help is very appreciated!
