Speed Limiter
Hi Guys
I was comin bak from college and started playing with a 99+ Mustang GT on I-95. I was leading him until I hit 105mph and the whole car jerked including me and my friend. After that I got nervous and just slowed down. The car didn't seem to have any loss of power or anything. Thank god. My question is this would the speed limiter do any damage to the engine?? Because the car jerked me and friend. But again it was put there by GM so it shouldn't damage anything rite?? The car is a 94 T/A A4 w/ 2.73 and the 110mph gauge cluster. All the help and suggestions are appreciated thank you in advance.

you could get the hypertech pp3 or just get ur pcm tuned to get rid of the speed limiter.
Cars with 245/50/16 tires and 3:23 gears from the factory are able to it 150
yours on the other hand prolly came with 235/55/16 tires and had lower gearing making your car restricted to 105

It doesnt hurt anything, its just the computer slowing down the car. You can get it programed out by getting a tune.

Thanx guy yea the way the car Jerked scared me to death. Yea I really don't want to guy the Hypertech, I heard lot bad reviews on it. But going looking for a dyno shop that may help take out the limiter. Also I changed my tires and now I got 245/50/16's. Grips a little better not my much every bit counts I guess. Thanx you again for the reponses and then giving me the assurence that nothing happened.
