Speed Density Question

alright, i have a deal on a 95 LT1 for $350, complete motor minus wiring harness, maf sensor, and computer. i'm swaping this into my truck and was wondering if it's possible to make the 95 speed density so i don't have to deal with buying a msf sensor, trying to keep this cheap.

If you can find a computer from a 93 F body or a 92 Y body, all you would need is a harness from Painless.

I'm curious why you want this engine, is it due to the EFI?

You don't need anything extra (aside form a PCM). Have the PCM reprogrammed to run only in speed density mode. But you'd be better off getting a used MAF and hooking it up. You should be able to get one from a junkyard for like $50.

i just want the LT1 for the ease of making power, it's hard to make power with a TBI 350

you technically do not have to do anything. It will run just fine with the 95 PCM and no MAF. You'll just get an SES. Nothing more. The truck will run perfect... Thats the cheapest way

I would like to invite you to visit the new speed density forum, www.speeddensity.org Will be a great site for SD info when it really takes off.
