Special tool for doing plugs?
Special tool for doing plugs?
Ok guys. I still cant get out plug #6. I have edlebrock shorties, so I cant get a spark plug socket onto it. Its on there too damn tight. I have a custom cut down wrench that Im pretty sure gets on there, but I cant make it budge. You guys think a crows foot will work on this plug?
Thanks for any advice...
Oh yea, what do you think about me just taking it to my trusted mechanic and shelling over like 25 or so bucks for them to remove it? I have been trying to get it out for friggin 3 weeks and cant. Its really in there.

Have you tried getting to it from underneath the car?
I got to mine w/ the Jet Hots pretty easy from underneath. Try slipping the socket on 1st, then put the ratchet on, preferrably a stubby one if you have it, or just use a regular one and twist that baby off.

Yes thats the only way I can do it, from underneath. Im almost positive I cant get any socket on there...I can get a wrench on there...but the problem is that i made a big mistake. After working on the plugs all friggin day, I was getting tired and wasnt thinking straight. So I actually started tightening the plug alot....then i stopped, stepped back and realized i was turning in the wrong direction. Now its really on there
I seriously dont know what to do.

Okay. I had the same problem (the not able to find a socket part). SLP has a special socket but its like 30 bucks. But if you go down to Sears and get an "O" rachet set. Its a little set of rachet and sockets but the rachet has a hole on the back of it. So when you put it on the spark plug it will be kinda sticking out of the rachet. Am I makeing sence?
They sell those sockets on Ebay. But I did what predator did also and removed my y pipe also. But this last time the passenger side was no problem. Try go get one of them sockets cause it sounds like you can reach the plug but its just on too tight.
