Before I start flaming a company, and I know they do make pretty good clutches...I just want your guy's honest opinion. I ordered a pressure plate from them yesterday. I now that most places try to get their parts shipped within 48 hrs,but then you have 2nd day and overnight delivery. I ordered the clutch yesterday morning(before shipping ends) I then spent over 70 bucks to ship this thing overnight. Well...it just shipped out TODAY. Now if I wanted 2nd day delivery I think I should have payed 2nd day delivery. I called them and they said its overnight from when they ship. I mean if a person wants to pay the expensive overnight charge should they not have the part well...i don't know...OVERNIGHT. This delay puts me in a messed up situation. When I talked to the sales man he just said "sorry...i can turn the order around if you don't want it". ITS OBVIOUS I WANT IT OR I WOULDN'T HAVE PAID 70 PLUS BUCKS TO SHIP IT IN THE FIRST FREAKING PLACE...RIGHT. I think they should have reimbursed me some of the shipping charges or something, but I just left it alone. I used to own a business ,and when someone told me they wanted it overnight...they meant they want the dam thing TOMORROW. So...am I right here or am I just being a dick..lol.

you paid overnight you should get overnite.. no if's ands or buts..
get your $$$ back...
get your $$$ back...The guys at SPEC are some of the nicest people I have ever dealt with. I was in a similar situation as you where I needed a clutch and flywheel immediately. I lived about four hours away at the time. I called them on Friday afternoon and told them my situation. They are normally closed on Saturday but they said someone could be there so I could pick up my stuff. So I drive up there (with a different car of course) and sure enough, someone was there to help me. I got the stage 2 clutch but they did not have the normal flywheel I wanted. Knowing I just drove 4 hours to get there, they gave me the aluminum flywheel for the same price!!! On top of that, the guy gave me a ride in his hot cammed vette with nitrous which was pretty cool. Then gave me and a buddy of mine a tour of their factory and gave us some free t-shirts. I know this is long but I will always recommend them to anyone in need of a clutch. I don't care what business you deal with, everyone makes mistakes. Unfortunately, they made a mistake with your order. Hopefully, everything will work out for you though.

I won't go into detail, but I will agee they are nice over the phone when you can reach them, but don't expect them to call you back or be accountable for their mistakes.
Frankly I'm tired of excuses from aftermarket companies for their lack of compency and filed a lawsuite against them after they sent me the wrong parts. Their excuse was: "We are just human".
I have no problem with that just as long as humans pay for the extra expenses and downtime they cost another "human"

I've never had a problem dealing w/ Spec. A couple years back I got a stage 4 kevlar clutch of theirs.. It wore out in 4 months. I called up Spec and asked if it was normal for that style of clutch to wear out that fast... In a way ~ I was told yes
. But, OTOH, the kevlar clutches that their distributors had on hand were to be sent back due to premature wear. Regarding this issue - they sent me a new ceramic stage 4 at no fee.
Also they hooked me up greatly when it came time to get that ceramic disc and pressure plate cleaned up/repadded.
Regarding your situation 2ZPOINT, I'd at least see if they can refund you the difference between overnight and second day air delivery. Should be a non-issue I would think. Unless there were other circumstances that caused the delay.
'Course, you'll prolly have the clutch in 12 hours

..Yea...I'm a pretty laid back person and I don't like to gripe and moan about stuff you can't change. They just put me in a situation. My friend needed the car out of his garage, and I was going out of town. Now I have to drive my bop around town car (a beautiful 96 geo metro) to dallas from Austin. I know I'll save on gas,but I hate driving it on the highway. The peice of **** turns like 4 grand on the highway at 60 mph...lol. My camaro is set up for drag and doesn't turn no where near that high. Not to mention it put my friend in a bind cuz now he has a camaro still in the way when he needs to put other work there. That's the whole reason I paid overnight shipping. Alot of good it did me. I have heard alot of good about spec, but I think their customer service has gotten worse lately. I called on tuesday, and talked to a guy named Pete (a very helpful guy and patient guy). He told me he couldn't ship overnight C.O.D. He needed a credit card for overnight. This is understandable so I said I would call in the morning since shipping was done for the day,and I need to borrow my friend's credit card. Pete told me 200 dollars for pressure plate. The next day I call and talk to some other sales guy that makes the order and tells me 349.00. After telling him what pete quoted he did stick to pete's price (luckily). Spec has gone a price increase in the last couple months, and it's like dam near DOUBLE. A friend ordered the same disk as me a few months back(stage 4) and it was 120 something to his door. I ordered it last week and it was 254 bucks. JESUS...that's a HUGE FREAKING INCREASE. Not to mention my pplate jumped 150 bucks in one day..lol. With all that being said I must say that I am pleased with the looks of the disk. It does look like a strong, solid part that would hold up to a lot. If someone doesn't mind dealing with their sales people I would say that the clutch looks better than any I have seen short of maybe a mcleod street twin. I think they should let the tech people sell the clutches for them...they seem to know their ****.
